The mission of the Kristin S. Conrad Lace Center Foundation states its educational goals in conjunction with
the museum. These goals include a range of instructional, programmatic, and emerging needs, including classes,
lectures and demonstrations on lacemaking for adults and children.
The Center has two classrooms dedicated to the instruction of lacemaking:
- Adult classes for new lace makers. The classes are taught by local teachers at the center.
Beginning classes are given in two-hour sessions for ten weeks. See below for upcoming classes.
- Adult Continuing Education classes. These group lessons are taught by outside teachers with the participants
members of the local Sir Walter Lacers Guild.
- Young student classes will begin at a tbd date. The multiple sessions of 1.5 hours each
will allow the young lacemakers to finish a piece made with bobbins. The center will provide all materials at no cost to the students.
More information will be published when available.
